سورة الأنعام، الآية ٥٦Surah Al-An'am, ayah 56 (6:56)
قُلۡ إِنِّى نُهِيتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهۡوَآءَكُمۡ قَدۡ ضَلَلۡتُ إِذًا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ ٥٦
The meaning in English
Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "I have been forbidden to worship those whom you invoke (worship) besides Allâh." Say: "I will not follow your vain desires. If I did, I would go astray, and I would not be one of the rightly guided."

قل -أيها الرسول- لهؤلاء المشركين: إن الله عز وجل نهاني أن أعبد الأوثان التي تعبدونها من دونه، وقل لهم: لا أتبع أهواءكم قد ضللت عن الصراط المستقيم إن اتبعت أهواءَكم، وما أنا من المهتدين
