سورة الأنعام، الآية ١٢٣Surah Al-An'am, ayah 123 (6:123)
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلۡنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرۡيَةٍ أَكَٰبِرَ مُجۡرِمِيهَا لِيَمۡكُرُواْ فِيهَا وَمَا يَمۡكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنفُسِهِمۡ وَمَا يَشۡعُرُونَ ١٢٣
The meaning in English
And thus We have set up in every town great ones of its wicked people to plot therein. But they plot not except against their ownselves, and they perceive (it) not.

التفسير الميسر
ومثل هذا الذي حصل مِن زعماء الكفار في "مكة" من الصدِّ عن دين الله تعالى، جعلنا في كل قرية مجرمين يتزعمهم أكابرهم؛ ليمكروا فيها بالصد عن دين الله، وما يكيدون إلا أنفسهم، وما يُحِسُّون بذلك
