سورة القصص، الآية ٤٥Surah Al-Qasas, ayah 45 (28:45)
وَلَٰكِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَا قُرُونًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِيًا فِىٓ أَهۡلِ مَدۡيَنَ تَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِينَ ٤٥
The meaning in English
But We created generations [after generations i.e. after Mûsâ (Moses) عليه السلام], and long were the ages that passed over them. And you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) were not a dweller among the people of Madyan (Midian), reciting Our Verses to them. But it is We Who kept sending (Messengers).

التفسير الميسر
ولكنا خلقنا أممًا من بعد موسى، فمكثوا زمنًا طويلا فنسوا عهد الله، وتركوا أمره، وما كنت مقيمًا في أهل "مدين" تقرأ عليهم كتابنا، فتعرف قصتهم وتخبر بها، ولكن ذلك الخبر الذي جئت به عن موسى وحي، وشاهد على رسالتك
