سورة القصص، الآية ٤٣Surah Al-Qasas, ayah 43 (28:43)
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَآ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَرَحۡمَةً لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يَتَذَكَّرُونَ ٤٣
The meaning in English
And indeed We gave Mûsâ (Moses) - after We had destroyed the generations of old -the Scripture [the Taurât (Torah)] as an enlightenment for mankind, and a guidance and a mercy, that they might remember (or receive admonition).

ولقد آتينا موسى التوراة من بعد ما أهلكنا الأمم التي كانت من قبله -كقوم نوح وعاد وثمود وقوم لوط وأصحاب "مدين"- فيها بصائر لبني إسرائيل، يبصرون بها ما ينفعهم وما يضرهم، وفيها رحمة لمن عمل بها منهم؛ لعلهم يتذكرون نِعَم الله عليهم، فيشكروه عليها، ولا يكفروه
