سورة الفرقان، الآية ٤٠Surah Al-Furqan, ayah 40 (25:40)
وَلَقَدۡ أَتَوۡاْ عَلَى ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمۡطِرَتۡ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوۡءِ أَفَلَمۡ يَكُونُواْ يَرَوۡنَهَا بَلۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ نُشُورًا ٤٠
The meaning in English
And indeed they have passed by the town [of Prophet Lût (Lot)] on which was rained the evil rain. Did they (disbelievers) not then see it (with their own eyes)? Nay! But they used not to expect any resurrection.

ولقد كان مشركو "مكة" يمرون في أسفارهم على قرية قوم لوط، وهي قرية "سدوم" التي أُهلِكت بالحجارة من السماء، فلم يعتبروا بها، بل كانوا لا يرجون معادًا يوم القيامة يجازون فيه
