سورة البقرة، الآية ٦٦Surah Al-Baqarah, ayah 66 (2:66)
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا نَكَٰلًا لِّمَا بَيۡنَ يَدَيۡهَا وَمَا خَلۡفَهَا وَمَوۡعِظَةً لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ ٦٦
The meaning in English
So We made this punishment an example to their own and to succeeding generations and a lesson to those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - See V.2:2).

التفسير الميسر
فجعلنا هذه القرية عبرة لمن بحضرتها من القرى، يبلغهم خبرها وما حلَّ بها، وعبرة لمن يعمل بعدها مثل تلك الذُّنوب، وجعلناها تذكرة للصالحين؛ ليعلموا أنهم على الحق، فيثبتوا عليه
