سورة النحل، الآية ٢٦Surah An-Nahl, ayah 26 (16:26)
قَدۡ مَكَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَأَتَىٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ ٢٦
The meaning in English
Those before them indeed plotted, but Allâh struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive.

التفسير الميسر
قد دبَّر الكفار من قَبْل هؤلاء المشركين المكايد لرسلهم، وما جاءوا به من دعوة الحق، فأتى الله بنيانهم من أساسه وقاعدته، فسقط عليهم السقف مِن فوقهم، وأتاهم الهلاك مِن مأمنهم، من حيث لا يحتسبون ولا يتوقعون أنه يأتيهم منه
