سورة غافر، الآية ٨٢Surah Ghafir, ayah 82 (40:82)
أَفَلَمۡ يَسِيرُواْ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَيَنظُرُواْ كَيۡفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ كَانُوٓاْ أَكۡثَرَ مِنۡهُمۡ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَءَاثَارًا فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَمَآ أَغۡنَىٰ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ٨٢
The meaning in English
Have they not travelled through the earth and seen what was the end of those before them? They were more in number than them and mightier in strength, and in the traces (they have left behind them) in the land; yet all that they used to earn availed them not.

أفلم يَسِرْ هؤلاء المكذبون في الأرض ويتفكروا في مصارع الأمم المكذبة من قبلهم، كيف كانت عاقبتهم؟ وكانت هذه الأمم السابقة أكثر منهم عددًا وعدة وآثارًا في الأرض من الأبنية والمصانع والغراس وغير ذلك، فما أغنى عنهم ما كانوا يكسبونه حين حلَّ بهم بأس الله
