سورة النساء، الآية ١٧Surah An-Nisa, ayah 17 (4:17)
إِنَّمَا ٱلتَّوۡبَةُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ لِلَّذِينَ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٱلسُّوٓءَ بِجَهَٰلَةٍ ثُمَّ يَتُوبُونَ مِن قَرِيبٍ فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يَتُوبُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ١٧
The meaning in English
Allâh accepts only the repentance of those who do evil in ignorance and foolishness and repent soon afterwards; it is they whom Allâh will forgive and Allâh is Ever All-Knower, All-Wise.

التفسير الميسر
إنَّما يقبل الله التوبة من الذين يرتكبون المعاصي والذنوب بجهل منهم لعاقبتها، وإيجابها لسخط الله -فكل عاص لله مخطئًا أو متعمِّدًا فهو جاهل بهذا الاعتبار، وإن كان عالمًا بالتحريم -ثم يرجعون إلى ربهم بالإنابة والطاعة قبل معاينة الموت، فأولئك يقبل الله توبتهم. وكان الله عليمًا بخلقه، حكيمًا في تدبيره وتقديره
